Musik-Stadt Porsche Club

What got you interested in Porsches?
When I was 18 years old (1977), I was dating someone who lived two doors down from Glenn Steakley, who owned a 1974 Porsche 914 black & yellow Limited Edition. I just thought that was the coolest car. Glenn was an avid autocrosser and took me out to a few autocrosses. Then he actually let me autocross his car. I was hooked.

What was the first Porsche you owned? How did
you come to possess it?
Then, one of Glenn’s fellow auotcrossers, Tom
Griscom, was putting his car up for sale. Thankfully,
I was first on his door step and took possession of the car on December 14, 1977 (my birthday) I still own the 914 which runs exceptionally well and has just over 83,000 miles on it.

What’s your best Porsche story?
I have had so many wonderful times with the 914. I drove it to college. I autocrossed it until the early 1980s. I am a Charter Member of the Musik Stadt Region. I have entered it in a number of car events included 3 years of the Grand Ole weekend in the early 1990s. I have attended 4 Parades, Ashville, Cincinnati, San Diego and Tampa. Best of all, is that I have made long lasting friendships with neat people who enjoy Porsche ownership just like I do.

Why are you a member of Musik-Stadt?
Again, it comes back to the relationships and experiences that I get to share with like minded people.
